Welcome to The Institute of Innovation and Advanced Learning.
Purpose
The CSIP Certification Maintenance Program allows certified professionals to demonstrate their continued knowledge, skills, and commitment to lifelong learning in sustainability and innovation.
Maintenance Requirements

Renewal Period: The maintenance cycle for all CSIP designations (Associate, Professional, Expert, and Fellow) is two years, beginning on the date the membership is acquired.

Maintaining Certification: To maintain an active certification status, certificants must earn the required number of maintenance points and submit a renewal application before the end of their two-year cycle.
Earning Maintenance Points
Point Categories: Points can be earned in two categories: Education and Service.
- Education: Includes activities such as attending conferences, completing courses, publishing business articles, and participating in relevant training programs (e.g., innovation, sustainability, supply chain-related).
- Service: Includes activities such as serving on committees, mentoring or supervising, volunteering for sustainability initiatives, and contributing to the field through academic applied research or publication.
Point Values: Each qualifying activity is assigned a specific point value. See the table below for examples.

Submitting a Maintenance Application
Online Application: Certificants can submit their maintenance application online through the IIAL website.
Documentation: Certificants may be required to provide documentation to support their claimed activities.
Renewal Fee: A non-refundable renewal fee applies. The cost varies depending on the certification level.

IIAL provides resources and guidance to help certificants fulfill the maintenance requirements.

Failure to meet the maintenance requirements may result in the suspension or revocation of the CSIP designation.
Reinstatement Policy
-
Certificants who fail to renew their certification by the end of their two-year cycle will have a grace period of 90 days to submit their maintenance application.

A reinstatement fee will apply.

If the certification is not renewed within the grace period, certificants will need to retake the certification exams to regain their credential.
Code of Ethics
All CSIP certificants are expected to adhere to the CSIP Code of Ethics. [Refer to the CSIP Code of Ethics page for details.]
