Humber Polytechnic | Digital Technology Hub – TechBridge

The Humber TechBridge 2025 event brought together students, educators, and innovators to explore solutions at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and education. IIAL was proud to contribute its expertise in certification, research, and systems leadership to this dynamic event. Here’s what we shared—and what we’re building next.

Bridging Education and Industry at Humber TechBridge 2025

On May 9th, the Institute of Innovation and Advanced Learning (IIAL) had the privilege of participating in Humber College’s TechBridge event—a high-energy gathering of students, startups, researchers, and industry leaders focused on shaping the future through innovation, sustainability, and technology.

Hosted at the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation, the event brought together cross-sector collaborators eager to build more ethical, connected, and climate-conscious systems. IIAL was proud to be among them.

Building Purpose-Driven Partnerships

The IIAL team—including Dr. Juan-Marcelo Gómez, Clarissa Getigan, Silvana Barrantes, and Navdeep Singh—shared current work and future opportunities in:

  • Applied research in agriculture and sustainability

  • Professional certification through our flagship programs:

    • Certified Supply Chain Integrity Professional (CSCIP)

    • Certified Sustainability Innovator Professional (CSIP)

  • The Whole-Chain International Standard (WCIS-2025) for ethical trade and traceability

Throughout the event, we had meaningful conversations with students, faculty, and employers who expressed strong interest in both our CSIP and CSCIP programs. These designations are becoming powerful tools for professionals committed to global impact, innovation, and verified leadership in sustainability.

Student Engagement that Inspires

What stood out most at TechBridge was the level of student engagement. Humber learners came ready to ask deep questions, share thoughtful insights, and connect on how they can apply their skills in real-world contexts.

Many were curious about:

  • How IIAL’s programs could complement their studies

  • The growing importance of traceability and data ethics in professional roles

  • How to become part of IIAL projects through research, placements, or collaborations

This kind of curiosity and initiative reflects a growing movement of values-aligned, future-ready professionals.

What’s Next for IIAL and TechBridge Connections

Following TechBridge, IIAL is exploring several new student opportunities, including:

  • Visual communications and graphic design support for branding projects

  • Applied sustainability research across greenhouse and agri-export sectors

  • Support roles in business development, certification outreach, and bilingual content creation

If you’re a student or educator interested in exploring work-integrated learning or collaborative programming with IIAL, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us at info@iial.ca or visit learn.iial.ca to explore our programs and placements.

Growing Together, Beyond the Event

TechBridge reaffirmed that education, innovation, and impact don’t happen in isolation—they thrive in communities of action. At IIAL, we’re committed to continuing these conversations and growing meaningful collaborations that bridge learning with real-world systems change.

Let’s keep building what’s next—together.
